On the Street Where You Live

I started doing this 3 years ago. I like to capture where I am when I am happy. These are some of my most cherished moments, mainly captured when I'm travelling or on vacation.

The dirt road that leads to my best friends' house.

The Renaissance Festival. Guest feet appearance by Makayla Luzaich Hagen ;)
The Kitchi Gammi Club - The Hartley Room

The dressing room of The Duluth Playhouse in tap shoes-character shoes on stand by.

The Cape May themed restaurant in Orlando, FL. Have I mentioned that I love umbrellas?

First day of vacation. Bliss. I can just tell my feet are happy.

Same day. They're practically smiling.

Nashville. *Sigh*

Germany.

Corporate life...and chartreuse.

Bayfield, WI during the Apple Festival - I love autumn and the annual trip to Bayfield.

A Day at the Faire

Two weekends ago, my friend Makayla attended the Minnesota Renaissance Festival with me. The theme was the Highland Fling so we were in for a treat as the Caber Toss & Stone Throw as well as the Kilt competition were held that weekend.  I really enjoyed watching the Scottish dancers and was thankful to be able to sit in the shade for their performance.  We both had a bread bowl of chicken wild rice soup under a grapevine trellis and watched jousting and various entertainers (including one rather crude poet. I think that's the opinion that he was aiming for ).  I finally found a square parasol and felt so prim and proper to be walking around with it.  The only set back of the entire day was that it was so hot.  The ice cream cones melted into a puddle almost immediately and the 98 degree weather felt far from what I would imagine the climate to be in Scotland.  Overall I think we had an enjoyable time and I will be looking forward to another visit next year. It runs until the first weekend of October. http://renaissancefest.com/MRF/

Love this font! Snazzy!

Check out Friar Tuck chillin' in the background!

I love this picture. It's an homage to Outlander.

For some reason I've always known that someday I will live in a house with beveled glass windows like this.
 Mosaics! Yes!

This little guy was a familiar face from last year.

The Ambiance of the Renaissance

Yesterday my mom and I ventured into the Renaissance Festival. I was enthralled by the entire display. Granted this was my inaugural visit, so every sign and building was viewed as artwork that must be admired. I took a lot of photographs and was even repremanded for doing so by one particular store owner. Everyone else seemed excited to pose for the camera and understood that I was not mocking their efforts nor intending to steal their design. The whole time I felt like Belle in the village of Beauty & the Beast. I kept waiting to hear the townspeople break into the song, "Look there she goes, that girl is strange no question...a most peculiar mademoiselle, such a pity & a sin, she doesn't quite fit in..." Because we definitely stood out by not wearing garmets from the 1600's and mainly because people were pushing around carts in what resembled a marketplace. Here are a few of my favourite images captured yesterday.
